Now thanks be to God for His indescribable gift, which is precious beyond words. 2 Corinthians 9:15 AMP
I have a surprise for your family and you need help to carry them, she said. When I saw the beautiful Christmas gifts for each member of my family, I gasped and tears rolled down my face. I thanked God silently in my heart for meeting our needs in an amazing way and I prayed for the blessings to pay it forward. Christmas is a season of giving, but no gift compares to the GIFT of God that we celebrate at this time – Jesus.
This season is filled with various loving traditions: from sharing joy and gifts with families and friends, to helping out at a shelter ,reaching out to the needy, baking Christmas cookies, enjoying some hot chocolate in front of the fireplace while binge watching Christmas movies, beautiful decorations and the list is endless. Nevertheless, the act of giving is the most beautiful tradition during the season.
The Gift of Good News and Joy
But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior, yes the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! Luke 2:10-11NLT
In the passage above, the greatest event in history has just happened – the birth of a Messiah and Savior, and this was good news to the shepherds. That good news is still relevant today because it marks the beginning of the redemption process. No wonder, Christmas time is filled with joy and good news; this indescribable gift fills us with joy. Likewise, all that comes in contact with this gift experiences joy. When they saw the star (which stood over where the Jesus was), they were thrilled with ecstatic joy. Matthew 2:10AMPC.
The Indescribable Gift of Hope and Miracles
In addition, this indescribable gift is the source of hope and miracles. The miraculous birth of Jesus through Virgin Mary is a beautiful reminder to us this season that with God, nothing is impossible. That’s probably why Christmas is known as a season of miracles, so receive your miracles and heart desires in Jesus name! – Amen. Furthermore, you can experience those miracles all year round because this gift also known as Emmanuel is with you always.
And His name will be the hope of all the world- Mathew 12:21NLT. The birth of Jesus also signifies hope for deliverance and a greater future for all. Friends, this is not a time to give up on your dreams, visions, career, marriage or parenting. Stop focusing on what didn’t work or turn out well; your failure does not define you. Put your confident hope in God to order your steps as we approach a new year.
Finally, whatever your traditions are, do not forget that this season is solely about celebrating this indescribable gift of love. We celebrate this season with lights because Jesus is the light of the world. So, let this be a time for your light to shine, not only on your Christmas tree or decorations, but to the people around you. Make this season count by re-evaluating your walk with God. What are you giving back to the one who gave Himself for you? Consider using the gifts and abilities that He has placed inside you.
